The BIG MOVE: If your name was foundation you'd be laid

Week four of our BIG MOVE is winding up!

I think its funny and irritating how people think when you move a house you can sit it down and KABOOM the thing is ready to move right into.

First off this is a real house.  Its a stick and cement and brick built house from 1939 and not a prefabricated wood and metal deal from the lot over on 70.  When it was made to move a couple weeks ago all electrical, plumbing, HVAC, were cut.

Now it is just a house with no working parts.

Secondly, there are a lot of repairs.  The house was built a long, long time ago.  Some structural pieces have to be removed and replaced with new.  Floors are coming out due to too much stress and age.  We don't know how the walls will be until she sits down.

Rome wasn't built in a day. Have a little patience :) Photo by 1000lifelessons (you can buy this on canvas or print by clicking on the image).

So moving on to this week....

We have been watching our foundation be laid!

Ok is that the correct way to say that?  Sounds weird...hmmm....retry!

We have watched the laying of the foundation!

Egh a little better...

Actually, my awesome mason is about finished up as I type this!!!

What's next?

Well since the foundation is completed the movers can come back and lower the house off the beams and let it sit on the foundation!

Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers over this situation.  I cannot wait to see what week five will bring.

And a side story....
As we were walking around the house my Diva says
"WHOA MOM THAT IS ONE BIG HAIRBALL!"

Um yeah...insulation.

She is blonde.
