5 on Friday

Grab button for FIVE ON FRIDAY AT THE GOOD LIFE BLOG

It is time to link up and have fun on Friday with a 5 piece!

Front Cover1.  Jesus Calling

I bought the book for my Nook and I can rhyme all the time!

Seriously, I bought the Jesus Calling Devotional last week.  I love it.  I love the way it is written and how it really makes your thoughts going and lets it all spew out so easily.  Must get it if you haven't found a good devo for 2014.

2.  Hello 60!

Degrees that is!  After a bitterly cold start to our week we are winding it down Southern style.  The near 60s are inching towards us.  However, we better not get
too used to it the weather man says we're going to get cold again in a few days.

3. White Sales!

Don't you love a good sale of whites?  You've never heard of that?  You're appalled?  It is 2014?

Nerd.

White sales are when they put housewares and linens on an extremely phenomenal sale!  I need a really good white sale like STAT to finish up this house!  I cannot seem to find any.  What the hell.  Everything good ended after the 80's I swear.

4.  Movies

My husband is no longer allowed to get us movies from Redbox.  The first trip he came back with a Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson movie that sucked @$$.  It was called "Crap" ok really it was called "The Internship" and it was horrible. I fell asleep in the first fifteen minutes. Seriously, those dudes ran out of steam after Wedding Crashers.  Retire ALREADY!

The next trip he did OK for us - The Heat.  I am afraid that the big chick...Molly or Melissa or whatever her name is is like any other overweight actress (or Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson person) she gets the same role over and over.  Identity Theft I love (because Jason Bateman is my dork crush) but The Heat was a let down.  It was like the big chick is playing the same role except she's "rough"...and Sandra Bullock is hot but she bores me too....same character she always plays over and over.

Do not buy this, rent this or get near it.
He did bad for the kids though.  I hate to admit this but I think he purchased soft cartoon porn for the kids.  It was some obvious B movie about the cartoons off of food products coming to life and basically having a group orgy.  We watched it for five minutes and became mortified (think about the way your grandma looked the first time you said condom) and that was our faces.  (Don't let Gma fool you she knows what the hell a rubber is...who do you think had to test them out for the manufacturers...)

So he's not allowed to get us movies anymore unless I want to watch one bad and will settle for anything.

Ok in his defense that movie was listed under Family & Kids movies.

Not my hands
5.  My hands look like I need to be a nursing home.

The winter is taking its toll on my hands.  They are dry, red, cracked, gross.  I blame this on my incessant hand washing skills and addiction to hand sanitizer.  I keep saying I'm going to get a good lotion and remember to apply it after every hand washing but lets be real ya'll....I'd be washing and lotioning like fifteen billion times a day and no one would be fed, diapered, or clothed.

There's my five.

Peace out homey.

  1. I guess you found out how to turn on your Nook? That devotional looks good! I may need to check that one out.
The movies....wow. At least your husband tries, right? Mine just rents movies for him...Lord of The Rings, lame movies, lamer movies, Matrix-style crap. It's all the same. Or horror movies. No thanks, I need a rom-com please.
Whew, glad those aren't your hands! Advice? Try the True Blue Spa 60-second hand manicure scrub, followed by their paraffin lotion. You'll be amazed. I need to practice what I preach, cuz my hands look like those listed above. Hey, did you steal that off of my Facebook photos?! LOL.
