Personal Spring Upkeep

Sometimes you have to re-evaluate everything in your life.  I guess it is like taking inventory when you work in business and retail.

Things happen that make us the way we are and some times we are not our best due to temporary personal circumstances.  Some use that as crutch to be and/or act a certain way.  Maybe shedding the crutch and moving forward would be a good idea as we move into spring.

We spend our springs doing various tasks like cleaning, changing up the shape and look of our homes and closets, and preparing soil for planting.

What if we spent some time cleaning up our lives, changing up our perspectives and preparing our soul for planting newness in our lives.

Maybe that's what Passover and the Lenten Season are for...ya know?

Religious seasons aside lets just do a cut and dry look at ourselves.

Maybe we need to take a look at what is clouding up our hearts.  Is there dust piled up in areas?  Relationships that are failing because we never seem to get over to care for them? Are there things eating away at the surface or deep within it?  Is it time we take a mop and bucket and wash away the hurt and pain and understand we have the power to create some happiness in our lives?

We need to "clean up" where our hearts are focused and make sure they are truly beating for what makes our lives so incredibly worthwhile.

Now is a good time to evaluate those around us and those impacting us.  Are they weeds in the flower bed?  Or are they bulbs that need a bit more care so they can bloom beautifully in the coming weeks.

Maybe we need to check our minds for dust bunnies and cobwebs that are not letting us let go of things that are hurtful and weighing us down.  They are stealing our focus and creating pain that just doesn't have a right to exist.

We need to let bygones be bygones, let bad experiences fly out the window {never forgetting because you did learn a valuable lesson from them} and move into spring with freshness, newness, and passion for growth.

Last year may have been hard and brought some problems and times of fear.  But now we are in a new year and a new season.  It's time to embrace that we are given the gift of this beautiful rebirth season to live our lives - forward focused, healthy, and ready to be the best we can possibly be.

We just need to take time to prune the good, prep the new, and plant the seeds of change and goodness in ourselves.
