Thursday Love: Those Gone

We're nearly over this month of love and winter.  I'm so glad.  February is not and has never been one of my favorite months.  In my top 12 it is number 12.

Continuing with my Thursday theme of sharing things I love on Thursdays....today I share with you my love for those gone.

Gone means two different things to me.

1.  Gone for now.

2.  Gone for good.

I have love for both.

My Gone For Now Group

My Mammaw.  The impact she made on my life is huge.  She was stripped from this world really quickly and it was terribly painful for a lot of people.  Though she is gone for now I will see her again (because I have faith) and when I do that love that I felt for her will not have to be renewed because it never went away.  If anything my love for her will be amplified.  I have walked this earth with her (taken for granted) and without her (in hurt) and the joy when we meet again will be so immense and overtaking....I look forward to that moment.

My Dad-o.  I was not very close to this man.  I spent a lot of time with him.  We ate breakfast together every morning for 7 years.  We ate lunches and dinners together a lot too.  We didn't talk a lot.  I watched him more than I shared words with him.  However, I know he loved me.  He was a good man with a good heart and a kind soul.  I love him.  My love for him grew as I watched him die for many years.  He didn't want to leave his bride he fought so hard.  He was true love come to life with my mom-o.

My Mom-o.  The woman of my Demented Thursday posts.  She still resides here in flesh.  However, a lot of who she really was is faded away.  Though it is hard to accept that who she is now is not who she truly is but who her disease makes her....I still love her.  She was never my favorite grandparent because she ridiculed me and judged me more than any of my other grandparents.  She did love me in those harsh comments she made of me when I was younger.  It was just the way she loved me that I didn't understand.

Those forever gone.

There are many people in my life I have been very close to that I will never see again.

It is by choice.

For me to write them off like a bad check would be a devastating idea.

Each one of them took me down a road in life that taught me a lesson, gave me a good memory or two, and then pushed me on down a new road that led me to where I am right now.  Sitting in a kitchen, drinking coffee, typing a blog post with my son at my feet blowing me kisses, my daughter cuddled up with her dad on the couch, and the man I ended up with drooling out the side of his mouth (it is 9 AM on a Sunday).

Each one of those friends or lovers wasn't the right one for me but for a little piece of time in my life they were the right person to lead me to finding the next experience/person/event that would begin the completion of this thing called life.  They would be warranted chapters in my story that would be heartbreaking, freedom finding, and just plain stupid.  They would be the people that are considered stepping stones and in case you didn't know it those people God sets in our lives to help us get from point A to point B are critical.  Without them we are just stuck on one spot.

I love them all.

Thursday Love: Diva-licious

A couple weeks back, as I was cleaning out my car (see, Monday May I), my kidlet got my camera and started taking selfies.  She was stealth about it and I didn't come across them until I had to get some pictures for work off the disk.  I have decorated the blog with her photos.

We call this new and less improved grill Possum Face.  Not kidding and yes she hates it.

My diva - my headache and my happiness.

I love my number one in the birth order of my children.

To be honest saying I love her doesn't do justice to the true love I feel for this child.

Obviously she learned this from all her dad's Luke Bryan wanna be concerts he has put on for us dancing and singing.  Or she could just be thug.  It is up in the air right now.

The kid is crazy.  She is a natural blonde in every sense of the term.  She can say the silliest stuff and have problems with the simplest of questions (should I share the one hundred and eighty discussion?).....

Diva:  Today is the 100th day of school.

Me:  Yep it is.  And you go a total of one hundred and eight days.  So how many days are left?

Diva:  Like 200?

Me:  No listen, you go one hundred and eighty days.  You have already done the 100 so what is left?

Diva:  Um 107?

She's blonde.  She probably inherited my math skills too (obviously).

This picture shows just how big her heart is....its beating and its so huge it causes massive possum mouth flare up...

The kid has a big heart.

She cares about everyone, even when I think she's pretty self centered, she will surprise me and make a comment that makes think holy crap did she learn that from me?  'Cause if so then woot woot I did good!

She's my favorite big sister, kindergartner, girl, possum mouth ever to walk the earth.  We have our challenges but God planned for that.  I just hope we're always as close as we are today.

To her dad and I, well, we do not see how we could have been blessed with a better daughter.  She tests us but she is supposed to.  She is our first born, the one we learn on ya know.  She is the one who gets the good and the crap end of the deal.  She'll be a tough cookie and well rounded for it.  Or she'll pay really expensive doctors to listen to her rant and rave about how bad we sucked....ahhh its America and normal right?

Yeah mama snapped this one when she wasn't paying attention....

We're doing our best to make her a good person and whether she knows it or not she's doing her best at teaching us even more than we could ever instill in her.

Thursday Love: Boyz 2 Men

In honor of it being February and the month of all things love I have decided that Thursdays will be devoted to two things I just well...love.

Here's the first week:

1.
This gravy eating, fried food eating, braves shirt wearing, always got some insane facial hair going on dude I happened to have married.

I love my husband.  Really.  I'm not just saying that.

He is a good person, like genuinely good, he cares about everyone and has a heart that has been touched by Midas.

My hubby is so supportive. He's not one of those men who doesn't care.  He does care and he can be the best cheerleader in my corner.

He's comfortable with who he is and that is pretty hot.  I love him.

He makes me laugh on the regular.  And sometimes his humor is more annoying to me than anything else but I'm thankful God paired me with a guy who finds joy in making me and others laugh.

He's a great dad to our two young minis.  He's not oblivious to his children.  He spends time with them on the daily and he plays with them and they never wonder if daddy loves them because he shows them.

I really love him.

Like totes my goats.

2.
This tiny man who is much bigger now but oh man do I love this picture of him when he was widdle man

My little man.

I love my little man because he's super cool (aside from not sleeping in his bed but he's getting way better at it again!).

I spent 9 months wondering about him and then was blessed by a healthy little booger.

He's the most laid back, relaxed, comical little dude.  But at the same time he is very compassionate and wanting to give you hugs and kisses....mmmm wah!

He teaches me a lot every day, like to just chillax and scream only when you cannot find your juice.

He is the piece that completed this family unit.  He has his sister wrapped around his finger and his daddy turns to mush around him.  As for me well ya know....
