Fall Means Shopping

If you live in North Carolina then you understand the idea of transitional fashion pieces.  Here's the deal:  We can wake up to a chilly morning that extends its chilly self out to the lunch hour or thirty minutes past.  By 1:30 PM it is about 95 with a humidity around 90 percent.  Then comes the post dinner hour and you're running to get a jacket because the chill from the morning has returned.

I call it psychotic weather disorder.

The cool part about it is we can stretch our most loved summer apparel out a bit longer than the season lasts.  The crap part is that those summer neons look a little odd on a thirty-three year old girl who is trying to bring some fall in with burgundy, mustard, and olive.

So, naturally, fall means shopping.

This year I'm using some summer pieces and saving up for some shopping for other pieces.  Here are my favorite Pinterest find looks for the fall.

black skinny's and denim shirt go with everything and I've been enjoying the brown on black color combo you see here in this picture. Except I add a brown belt to my brown boots. Ahhhh fashion <3:
The white tee from the summer, the boots from last year.  All I need is a new pair of leggings and a chambray top.  Note:  I have always hated chambray but this look has grown on me.
Black And White Chic Style:
I think this is the outfit we can all pull off from shopping our own closets.
I love that I own that purse haha!! Now I just need the shoes, since I know I can't pull off that dress:
I just love a good shirt dress.  Do you have one from spring or summer that can you match with fall accessories?
"Red White and Black" by stay-at-home-mom on Polyvore If the pants were purple, I'd wear it.:
This feels more like winter to me but I would bring in some browns in place of black and some cabernet in place of red...sign me up I want it now.

Weekends will look more like this....

Cozy Fall Fashion-- I love all these Fall Outfits! Brown boots Aztec sweater Puffy vest:
Well I like the first three...you can keep the tribal prints.
:):
So true, I need it in my closet :)

What is your fall shopping list and or closet shopping list looking like?

July Goals Revisited & August's Set!

July goals ummm.....well see for yourself!!!

1.  Plan a weekend in Tennessee.  Failed.
2.  Take the kids to Discovery Center Huntersville.  Failed.  The big kid got an extra week at camp.  The little kid...he's just happy to be bouncing around.
3.  Get my hair did (color....home girl is kinda growing it).  Scored!
4.  Tube the New River.  Failed but we did get more River time minus a tube.
5.  Bike in Todd.  Failed.  My bike is broken....a month and a half later.
6.  Read two books.  Scored.  One sucked and one rocked.
7.  Have a date night (two would be the big goal).  Scored.  Two of them to be exact!
8.  Find three new recipes to make.  We are in such a slump or redundant meals.  Scored.  Thank you Pinterest and labeling.

I give myself a C because I was good for 4 and bad for 4.  :)

1.  Plan the birthday parties.  My son's birthday is August 24th and my daughter's is September 4th.  I always try to do one party for both.  This year I'm changing it around a bit.  I think.

2.  Find some computer classes to take this fall.  I feel like my skills need to be brushed up.

3.  Read two books.

4.  Get at least one date night.

5.  Have a shark free beach trip.

6.  Enjoy the river (continue to...)

7.  See if it is possible to actually make plans and carry them out with my BFF.

8.  Three more new recipes this month.

9. 48 miles of pavement pounding this month.

10.  Make an eye doctor appointment and a physical appointment.

Ok it is your turn!  Tell me your goals for the month!

Mother's Day Wish List (?)

Is it really appropriate to have a Mother's Day Wish List?  That is my question.

I see some bloggers doing it and I'm like.....ummmm is this really kosher?

Just being honest, motherhood is hard and a gift to say thanks is always totally awesome and making a wish list is loads of fun but does it cheapen Mother's Day to make a wish list like your kid's do at Christmas or for birthdays?

OK fine you talked me into it.

I mean I'm just raising two of tomorrow's society members to the best of my ability.  God willing they will be productive citizens who make the world a little better.  So maybe I do deserve a little wish list.  Yes, OK I think so.

Thanks for the pep talk.

Here we go...

26" Kent La Jolla Cruiser Women's Bike
This is a Kent Bike, model is La Jolla.  I've been saying I want a bike for when we go camping and to ride with my 7 year old.  I want a basket on my bike.  I feel the need to mention that.  ($100/Walmart)

Pelican Trailblazer 100 Kayak - Dick's Sporting Goods

Meet the Pelican Trailblazer Kayak.  I love the water and last year I fell in love with kayaking.  This would be a fab gift <wink>!  ($199/Dicks)

These always fit perfectly.  Ya know....gift cards :)

A mini get away to some water :)

I have to admit I'm normally quite blessed on Mother's Day with church then a nice lunch out and some where fun to go.  I really don't care what this Mother's Day brings as long as we're all well and happy.  I know, so cliche, but really really true.

Happy Mother's Day
